It's a small world...
A few years ago I made a miniature model of my childhood home - that project became the "Home" photograph series - and I just can't seem to keep out of my craft box. I'm back at it, making another miniature house. This one is smaller and bigger at the same time ... let me explain. The scale is smaller, but there will be more house and even a yard, and hopefully a garden wall...I'm still working it all out. Here's some of the progress on this one.
It's a jungle in here...
My new project involves me making a miniature terrarium jungle. This is a test piece which will give me an idea of what issues I may encounter when I build a much, much larger terrarium for my bigger little house. The final presentation of this project will be photographs, video and possibly an installation. The problem: I don't have a green thumb. My thumb is very brown - literally and figuratively. Currently all is well, but in this humid, hot Sydney summer I can't figure out how to tame the condensation on the box...here's to hoping the house doesn't turn mouldy.
